Derrick Santini hails from Scarborough, North Yorkshire and discovered his love for photography at the age of thirteen. Derrick spent his teenage years recording everything he saw; this early fascination became a more serious vocation after attending Harrogate College to study for a BTEC in photography, which was followed by a BA (Hons) in ‘Photography and Communication’ at the London College of Communication (formerly LCP). Whilst studying, Derrick rapidly evolved to become an accomplished reportage photographer.
After this initial period prolific in reportage, Derrick’s talent saw him propelled into the fields of portraiture, music photography, fashion and advertising. Today, he is one of the most sought-after portrait photographers, known for his portraits of Adele, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, as well as many actors, models and TV stars. About eight years ago Derrick started experimenting with Lenticular photography, culminating in two acclaimed solo shows in London, and numerous other solo and group shows internationally. Derrick’s third series of works was exhibited in June 2016 in London, following shows in Bahrain, Mykonos, New York and finally, for the first time Abu Dhabi: the selection of 3 lenticular artworks specially created for UAE, inspired by horses and falcons.
